Born in Southern Russia, Violetta Kurbanova was raised amid the breathtaking Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea landscapes. From a young age, she was drawn to the beauty of
her surroundings, often exploring her hometown in search of inspiring scenes. With an innate curiosity and boundless imagination, she found herself captivated by nature’s ever-changing colours, which later became the foundation of her artistic journey. Her passion for art emerged early, serving as both an outlet and a source of strength. She diligently sketched and painted the world around her, from the golden hues of autumn leaves to the endless horizon where the hills met the sea. Even before earning a formal qualification in the arts, she demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication. At just 14 years old, she was accepted into the prestigious Krasnodar National Art School, where she honed her abilities in drawing, painting, and sculpture. This early training equipped her with the versatility to master various artistic mediums. A respected member of the Australian art community, Violetta is affiliated with esteemed organisations such as the Royal Art Society, Ku-ring-gai Art Society, Drummoyne Art Society, and Lane Cove Art Society. Her works have been exhibited in renowned galleries and international art shows across Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas. Many of her paintings now reside in corporate and private collections worldwide. |

Violetta's Artworks
Shadow and Spirit
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
38 x 56 cm
Framed
Shadow and Spirit captures a moment of transition. As the horse moves through the deep shade of an ancient tree into a corridor of rhythmic light, it symbolizes the constant dance between our physical presence and our inner guidance. This work is about the grace of moving forward, even when the path is draped in mystery and filtered through the unknown.
Arches of Ash
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
56 x 38 cm
Framed
Arches of Ash captures the hallowed silence of a forgotten sanctuary, standing as a weathered witness to time. It explores the beauty of a structure that has finally found its rhythm with the wild, skeletal trees that surround it.
The Shore’s Edge
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
38 x 56 cm
Framed
The Shore’s Edge explores the precariousness of our chosen sanctuaries. The house is rendered as a singular point of brilliance, a "last outpost" defying the overwhelming forces of erosion and the ghostly, shifting mists of the ocean’s memory.
Frozen Grace
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
38 x 46 cm
Framed
The quiet majesty of surrender. Frozen Grace explores the intersection of fragile beauty and immense structural weight, capturing the precise moment before the dancer releases all tension into the void.
Eyes of the Earth
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
56 х 38 cm
Unframed
In this portrait, the boundaries between the human spirit and the natural world dissolve. Her gaze carries the weight of the soil and the silence of the forest, reminding us that we do not just live on the earth—we are a part of it. The verdant hues and soft washes of light capture a moment of stillness, reflecting a resilience that is as old as the landscape itself.
Fractured Light
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
56 х 38 cm
Unframed
If the eyes are a window to the soul, then this landscape is the breath that sustains it. Fractured Light captures the precise moment the canopy breaks, allowing the sun to touch the rugged, unpolished floor of the wild. It is the setting for a silent history, a place where shadows are deep, but the light is always fighting its way through the thicket.
The Silent Alley
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
38 х 28 cm
Unframed
A monochrome journey through light and shadow. The Silent Alley is a meditation on the spaces we inhabit alone. It captures the moment light pierces a heavy darkness, turning cold stone into a luminous path and inviting the viewer to step into the unknown.
Shadows of the Stone Hearth
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
38 х 28 cm
Unframed
A meditation on permanence and decay. This work captures the chilling beauty of ancient masonry, where heavy granulation turns cold stone into a map of "stardust and salt." It is a silent witness to the generations that have passed through its light.
Between the Rays
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
38 х 28 cm
Unframed
This piece serves as a bridge between the wild forest and the stark architecture of memory. The lone path, defined by bold, diagonal shadows, represents the "long reach" of time—inviting the viewer to step into a landscape where every splatter of texture tells the story of a journey through the light.
Guiding the Gale
by Violetta Kurbanova
Watercolour on paper
56 х 38 cm
Unframed
This piece explores the tension between the fluid energy of the waves and the unyielding light of the beacon. It represents a "safe passage" through the unknown, where the spray of the tide and the grain of the sky dissolve into a singular, luminous vigil.
