Maat's Mirror

The Mirror of Ma'at is inspired by the Trinity of Andrei Rublev, intertwining ideas from the Judgment of Osiris, Egyptian mythology, and a return to the origins of icons as a phenomenon. In Egyptian beliefs, a person is given a soul and the potential for development to live their life in the realm of Ka. The Judgment of Osiris takes place in silence, as words merely justify dishonesty and create confusion. At this moment, the concept of Ma'at - the goddess of truth, justice, and cosmic order - is also significant. After a person departs from earthly life, their ideal soul silently reflects on their life and asks themselves questions: How did they live their life? Are they in harmony with themselves? Were they honest with themselves and others? In the silence, alone with oneself, the true truth emerges, reflecting the principles of Ma'at that require a person to live in harmony with themselves and the surrounding world.
