Painted Still Life Workshop | 5 -10 years | Sunday, 30 Aug | 10 am - 10:45 am
Join us for a colourful workshop where children bring a still life to life using vibrant pastels and playful mark-making.
Working from a still-life set-up of flowers, fruit and everyday objects, children will learn to look closely and translate what they see into bold shapes, pattern and colour. Along the way, they will build confidence with composition, colour choices and their own expressive drawing style, discovering how ordinary objects can become the subject of something bright and personal.
This workshop offers a wonderful opportunity for children to practise observation while embracing colour and imagination without pressure for realism. No previous experience is needed, and every artwork will reflect each child's own way of seeing.
Suitable for children aged 5 to 10. All materials provided.

About the tutor
Rebecca Austin is a local artist with a Bachelor of Fine Art from Griffith University, where she majored in printmaking and drawing.
Alongside her art practice, Rebecca works as an early childhood educator and brings a thoughtful, supportive approach to teaching. She is passionate about helping both children and adults develop creative skills and confidence.
Rebecca believes that everyone can be creative and encourages each student to reconnect with their sense of play and curiosity through art.
