Olga Bakhtina: Love, Life & the Other Circus | Opening Evening

We warmly invite you to the opening of Love, Life & the Other Circus, a solo exhibition by Brisbane-based artist Olga Bakhtina, on Saturday, 7 November, from 5 to 7 pm at Creative Room Art Space.

Spend the evening exploring a vibrant collection of paintings filled with colour, character and unexpected stories, and celebrate the opening of this new exhibition with us.

Olga Bakhtina is an award-winning Australian artist whose distinctive style draws on her love of European modernism, particularly the École de Paris and Fauvism. Inspired by artists such as Matisse, Chagall, Modigliani and Soutine, she works primarily in oil and charcoal, combining bold brushwork, vibrant colours and simplified forms.

In Love, Life & the Other Circus, Bakhtina brings together women and animals, lovers and dreamers, Venetian scenes, interiors and circus characters. Her paintings explore human relationships, emotions and the beauty and absurdity of everyday life. Moving between reality and imagination, each composition offers a glimpse into a world where familiar subjects take on unexpected meanings and viewers are free to create their own stories.

The exhibition reflects Bakhtina's fascination with life's contradictions, its humour, tenderness, unpredictability and occasional magic.

We look forward to welcoming you to the gallery for the opening evening.

Free entry. Registration recommended.
